A company with an unusual name Lands’ End was founded in America in 1963 and worked at first trade racing yachts, as well as equipment and clothing for sailing. Company founder, Gary comer, a former sailor, wanted to call his shop “Land’s End” — “end of the Earth”, but due to an unfortunate misprint, the apostrophe in the logo came out of its place, causing this unusual name, which soon became an original and recognizable brand name.
